meet alecia cunningham:
Rooted in Community. Ready to Serve.
a lifelong resident of University Place, a proud mom of four boys, and a dedicated public servant.
“I’m Alecia Cunningham raised in University Place, a proud product of this community, and now raising my own four sons here. I know the neighborhoods, the schools, and the spirit that makes UP such a special place to call home.
From my early days as a Girl Scout to volunteering in our public schools, I’ve always believed in service. That belief has guided my life as a single mother, a nonprofit leader, and a community advocate committed to building a future where everyone feels seen and supported.
Professionally, I’ve spent my career in public service, nonprofit leadership, and policy consulting. I bring people together to solve tough problems, and I know how to get things done with both compassion and fiscal responsibility. I understand the real pressures families face and I make decisions with those experiences in mind.”
I’m running for City Council to protect what makes University Place unique:
Safe neighborhoods, vibrant parks, strong schools, and thoughtful growth that reflects our community’s values. I support balanced development that respects our natural buffers and protects residents from unchecked density mandates. We can grow without giving up what we love about UP.
This city raised me and I’m ready to give back with heart, humility, and a clear vision for the future.”
